May the Craft be with You ~ Nerdy Weihnachtswichteln // Secret Santa 4.0

Last Christmas was the biggest nerdy Secret Santa so far in my DIY facebook group May the Craft be with You. We found another 16 nerdy crafters to exchange handmade gifts for the holidays. And let me tell you, these crafters are talented, but see for yourself!
/
Letzte Weihnacht gab es das bisher größte nerdy Weihnachtswichteln in meiner DIY Facebook Gruppe May the Craft be with You. Wir haben ganze 16 nerdy Bastler gefunden um ihre handgemachten Geschenke auszutauschen. Und was für Geschenke das waren, aber schaut selber!

I received this awesome package including the Dobby Christmas card, a Smaug fairy light jar, a bird feeder made from a flower pot with all my favorite fandoms (which I'm going to reuse this year) and some Harry Potter soaps.
/

Here's all the other crafty packages:

Und hier findet ihr alle anderen Wichtel-Pakete:

Of course I participated with a few crafty pieces as well. My Secret Santa partner was a big Bob's Burgers Fan, so I took a piece of birch from the tree we had just felled and used my wood burner to burn a picture of Bob Belcher himself with a very fitting quote for the holidays. I completed the family with a melting bead Gene in his Burger costume and a shrink foil Tina. The Simpsons cup was a thrift find and the Disney foam stickers have been in my crafting collection for a while now, so it was time for a new owner.
/
~~~
Anyone who wants to join us for this year's Secret Santa should hurry up, because we will decide on partners this Saturday, November 18th. Stop by the group anyways if you want to see what kind of creative gifts will be exchanged: May the Craft be with You
Wer dieses Jahr bei unserem Weihnachtswichteln mitmachen will sollte sich beeilen, denn wir losen am Samstag, den 18.11. bereits unsere Wichtelpaare aus. Schaut ansonsten gern in der Gruppe vorbei um zu sehen, was es dieses Jahr für kreative Geschenke gibt: May the Craft be with You
Picturesque Month ~ 04'16
~ First Ice Cream of the Year! Well, actually it's a Froyo.
~ I'm a little obsessed with the vegan chef Attila Hildmann, because I love his recipes and almost own all of his cookbooks and now he sells his own food! I really love his vegan bolognese and it's just perfect for those lazy days where you just want something quick, but also healthy!
~ The husband and I visited a Korean barbecue street food market. I love trying out new cuisine.
~ I was the vacation replacement for my colleague, who is managing our classical sales department for four weeks, so as a proper replacement I visited a classical concert. It was a Yellow Lounge concert with the wonderful Hélène Grimaud introducing her new album Water featuring Schiller. 5/5 Bazooka Points for a wonderful atmostphere and it was so cool when Hélène and Schiller switched places for a song, so Schiller was on the piano and Hélène on the synthesizer.
~ We spontaneously decided to go to another Battles show. The first time we saw them was in a tiny venue in munich and it was one of the best concerts I ever went to, so the stakes were very high. But they didn't dissapoint! 4/5 Bazooka Points, but only cause the first one was so special!
~ And then there was Dransgal! A really promising young german act with influences of New Wave, Post-Punk and Indie-Pop. 5/5 Bazooka points for this 22 year old's stellar performance at his record release show in Berlin.
~ I did a little concert hopping again and went to the Vertigo Label Night after the Drangsal record release show, where I saw the beautiful Sara Hartman. 4/5 Bazooka Points for keeping her cool when the sound system failed.
~ I won tickets for the Social Movie Night with Bad Neighbours 2! It was a really cool event even though we had to hand over our cell phones again and wait forever for the beginning, but we were compensated with a hilarious intro with Seth Rogen and Chloë Grace Moretz in person! They also invited the actor's german voice actors and Seth Rogen thought that was so awesome and also super weird, he was so freaked out! The film was alright, but the best part was the aftershow party at the House of Weekend rooftop club with free drinks (in red cups, college style) and an awsome view over Alexanderplatz. They also had this vodka fointain with a pissing statue that was triggered by using the hashtag on instagram. Too bad it was a weeknight, otherwise we would have probably drunk too much.
~ LEGO Batman at the movie theatre. Can't wait for the movie! Loved the LEGO movie!
~ It was finally nice enough outside for me to want to fix up the balcony. There's always so much junk to clean up after the winter, but I got it all done in one afternoon.
~ I fixed up these wooden boxes with a bit of coppe spray paint and stacked them on top of each other to make a little shelf next to our comfy balcony chair. Perfect for resting your wine glass while enjoying a bit of evening sun.
~ Did a little bit of colouring in the sun. I found this Harry Potter colouring book at the thrift store and I think it's from before the movies, because everyone looks exactly like in the books and Peeves is in it as well.
~ More thrift finds! I went to one of my favorite thrifting places and found this cute Hello Kitty suitcase(1€), two Polly Pockets(1€ each) and a couple of LotR Kinder surprise figurines(1€ for 4).
~ Pimped my bike! My brother got me this freaky new bike seat and it's pretty awesome. It's like riding on a cloud, no more butt aches :D
~ Winter is coming! Got a new blanket with fake fur and the first thing the husband does is pretend to be the Lord of Winterfell... how cool is the new Game of Thrones Season though? So sad about the recent loss though... stupid door...
Picturesque Month ~ 08'15
~ I actually managed to take my bike to work regularly in August. Found a route via Komoot that took me off the big streets to make the ride more comfortable and less stressfull. You do not want to ride a bike through Alexanderplatz in rush hour!
~ Beautiful sunset view from our balcony.
~ The husband made some sun tea. Just put some black tea, lemon juice and sugar in a glass container and let it sit in the sun for a couple of hours. Serve with lots of ice! Finally a use for this glass pitcher we got for our wedding cocktails.
Got to see the hilarious Amy Schumer and Bill Hader live at the Social Movie Night for their movie Trainwreck. We were at the Cinestar at Kulturbrauerei on a very hot day and it was still hot even in the movie theatre, maybe that's why Amy was wearing this outfit that looked like it's supposed to be underwear ;)
Because the Social Movie Night is made by Youtubers there were a bunch of cameras filming the actor's every move, so Bill Hader went and chased them all in a corner. Pretty cool dude!
~ Made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for the husband's birthday.
~ When the husband goes into the water at the lake that means it's really really hot. We had some lovely visitors for the weekend and took our saturday brunch to the lake.
~ Brought home a Matcha drink from America. Too bad it had sugar in it, but this way you can dissolve it in cold water to have a refreshing drink at the office. Loving my mason jar mug <3
One of the weirdest concerts I ever went to happened this month: The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit in concert. It was at Waldbühne and the inner circle that is usually filled with the standing crowd at big rock concerts was covered with fake grass, a hobbit house and a huge ring. There were a bunch of costumed people on the grass that were mostly just sitting there during the concert and occasionally dancing. My favorites were a couple of trees in brown body suits, I think they were drag queens :P On the stage was the orchestra that played our favorite melodies from the movies and Mark Hadlow, who played the dwarf Dori in the Hobbit narrated the whole thing. It was supposed to be Sir Christopher Lee, but sadly he passed away earlier this year.
The weird thing about it was that they started with this endless intro that even contained a marriage proposal between a bearded warrior and a plus sized elf. The concert itself was quite random mixing scenes from all movies together in the wrong order and showing movies scenes that don't really match the music. Some songs they played multiple times like the Ed Sheeran song "I see fire" and the Hobbit celebration where everyone on the grass danced around like crazy. I think they just hired some fans with costumes as decoration.
Dear Claudi from Pixeltrash3000 came all the way from Halle to see this concert and it was kind of underwhelming after all. We spend the rest of the evening sorting LEGO's and watching The Return of the King, so a fun day all in all.
~ We had another showcase at work, the band was called Royal Republic and they definitely rocked our cantina! 5/5 Bazooka Points for the acoustic version of their Dick-Song.
~ Going to the Pure&Crafted Festival was an excellent & spontaneous idea. I was helping a friend move on the day and didn't even plan on going to the festival, but the move went by so fast that I was feeling really energized and ready to party. Dear Lu from LuLovesHandmade was very excited I could make it, because she was at the festival by herself. Actually thanks to her I didn't even have to pay to get in because a friend of her's had a guest list to spare. We saw The Refused and The Hives on the big stage outside of Ostbahnhof. Great shows indeed!
~ On the other end of the venue was a big fairground with all kinds of vendors and a huge round building called the Motodrom where the "Wall of Death" took place. Look at this! We came out with shaking knees! Crazy bastards.
~ I had such a great time with this lovely lady. I have seldom been more glad to be spontaneous and we actually danced until 3am in the morning. So much fun!
~ Spent the next day on our bed fort in the living room watching Youtube videos while the husband played Metal Gear Solid.
