May the Craft be with You ~ Nerdy Weihnachtswichteln // Secret Santa

Last Christmas it was time for another nerdy Secret Santa in my DIY facebook group May the Craft be with You. Since the first Secret Santa was such a big success we found another 12 nerdy crafters to exchange handmade gifts for the holidays. And let me tell you, these crafters are talented, but see for yourself!

Letzte Weihnacht war es wieder Zeit für ein nerdy Weihnachtswichteln in meiner DIY Facebook Gruppe May the Craft be with You. Das erste Wichteln war so ein Erfolg, dass wir erneut 12 nerdy Bastler gefunden haben um ihre handgemachten Geschenke auszutauschen. Und was für Geschenke das waren, aber schaut selber!

So much Harry Potter Goodness! Shrinky Dink jewellery, handmade postcards and bookmarks. Also some awesome Doctor Who Shrinky Dinks and cards.

So viel schöner Harry Potter Kram! Schmuck aus Schrumpffolie, gebastelte Postkarten und Lesezeichen. Dazu noch ein paar wunderschöne Doctor Who Sachen.

Probably out most professional crafter in the group with her own Etsy Store is Ivana Pepolina. She made these cute bags and sent a bunch of her home country's candies.

Unsere vermutlich professionellste Bastlerin in unserer Gruppe mit ihrem eigenen Etsy Shop ist Ivana Pepolina. Sie hat diese putzigen Taschen gemacht und einen Haufen Süßigkeiten aus ihrer Heimat mitgeschickt.

And this is what I made, a Grim tea cup with the matching Padfoot plate and a Slytherin green velvet headband.

Und hier ist mein Wichtelpaket. Ich hab ein Grimm Teeservice gemacht mit dem passenden Tatze Teller and ein Slytherin grünes Stirnband aus Samt.


My own present was this beautiful Ravenclaw headpiece, which was matching my Christmas Eve outfit splendidly.

Mein eigenes Geschenk war dieser wunderschöne Ravenclaw Haarreif, der wunderbar zu meinem Weihnachtsoutfit am Heiligabend gepasst hat!

Elbenwald Festival ~ DIY Workshop Wandmaking // Zauberstäbe basteln

Last year I got to visit Elbenwald Festival and host another geeky workshop! Along with my dear Helen aka Tiny Pygmypuff and Lisa, who I met in real life for the first time, we made magical wands with the Elbenwald Festival visitors.
Elbenwald is a shop for all things geeky and nerdy and last years festival was the first of its kind; a mix of music festival and convention!
The next festival is less than a month away (August 8-10th 2019) and I'm happy to announce that Helen and I will be back to craft with you <3

Letztes Jahr durfte ich das Elbenwald Festival besuchen und einen weiteren geeky Workshop leiten! Zusammen mit der lieben Helen aka Tiny Pygmypuff und Lisa, die ich dort zum ersten Mal im echten Leben getroffen habe, haben wir mit den Festival Besuchern magische Zauberstäbe gebastelt.
Elbenwald ist ein Laden für alles was das Nerd/Geek Herz begehrt und im letzten Jahre haben sie zum ersten Mal ein einzigartiges Festival geschaffen, welches Musik und Convention vereint.
Das nächste Festival findet in weniger als einen Monat statt, vom 08.-10. August 2019, und ich freue mich riesig, dass Helen und ich wieder am Start sein werden um mit euch zu basteln!


Even though we've been chatting for many years via Instagram we had never met in person before the festival! We got along so well though and all of the communication and organisation to prepare for the festival went very smooth. Couldn't have asked for a better team!

We barely had time to take pictures in between, so I was really glad that Pia from Irgendwie Nerdig stopped by to take some pictures:

Auch wenn wir uns seit einigen Jahren kennen und schon lange via Instagram kommunizieren, haben wir uns tatsächlich vor dem Festival noch nie getroffen! Umso schöner war es, dass wir uns sofort fantastisch verstanden haben und auch die Organisation vor dem Festival wie geschmiert lief. Hätte mir kein besseres Team wünschen können!

Da wir kaum Zeit für Fotos hatten während des Workshops war ich froh, dass uns Pia von Irgendwie Nerdig besucht hat und ein paar schöne Eindrücke geschossen hat:

Our workshop attendees started out with a wooden stick that we carved in wand shape and then they had to sand it into a shape they liked. We had lots of accesoires to add to the wand like beads, gemstones and string which could be hot glued on. Finally we had paint and brushes to give the wood a nice colour. The attendees made so many beautiful wands, I really didn't expect them to look so professional!

Unsere Workshop Teilnehmer haben mit einem Rundstab begonnen, den wir in eine spitze Zauberstabform geschnitzt haben und mit Hilfe von Schleifpapier haben sie ihn in die gewünschte Form gebracht. Wir hatten allerlei Accessoires zum Verzieren des Stabes dabei z.B. Perlen, Edelsteine und Bindfaden welche mit Heißkleber befestigt werden konnten. Und zum Schluss konnten die Teilnehmer ihren Zauberstäben mit Pinsel und Farbe ein neues Gewand geben. Es waren wirklich sehr viele sehr schöne Kreationen dabei, selbst ich war überrascht, wie professionell einige gebastelt haben!
