Spring Festival Fleamarket

Yesterday was the Red Cross fleamarket in Munich. It takes place on the Theresienwiese, the area where the Oktoberfest is. It's the biggest fleamarket in Bavaria and this was my third time. Sadly it was also the first time that the weather was shit, so it wasn't as big and well visited as usual. We still had a good time despite he drizzle and annoyed sellers.
Here's some impressions:










You can never have enough antlers or crucifixes! Actually Ken bought a crucifix. It's for sacrilegious purposes, don't worry. He's already started to work on it and the results will be shown here.

He paid 10€ for the thing and thus spent more than I did all day! That never happens! But I did get pretty lucky rightaway.
Since it was raining/drizzling & cold all day, some sellers just took off, leaving their stuff behind. Score! I always feel a little bad, rummaging through the "trash" like that, but not too much to leave cool stuff behind.

Just needs a little bit of cleaning up and then it's ready for... something. I will figure out something to do with it eventually.
Also found a bunch of VHS Tapes, which are very useful for my new crocheting hobby, news on this very soon.

Speaking of Tape, do you remember these cassette tape storages? I do!


Super useful for my cassette tape collection.

Last but not least, a stamp set & the only thing I bought at the fleamarket (50cents). Most of them still work, at least after letting them soak it water for a second.

This fleamarket is definitely a must-see for people living in Munich and visitors. If it's your first year in Munich, this is the best place to fill your apartment with stuff of need and just stuff for very cheap!
I guess you could also visit the Spring Festival (Mini-Oktoberfest) right next to it. But who really needs overpriced beer and rides twice a year.

Once Upon a Time - Apartment Therapy

I've been watching the ABC fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time" recently. I'm terrible at explaining plots, so here's the wikipedia entry.
This series definitely got me hooked. The problem with starting to watch a series when you're sick and browsing for stuff to watch ist that once you're hooked and then not sick anymore there's no time to watch it anymore. The man's not impressed, so I have to wait for the weekend or "game night" to watch my shows.

Anyways, one thing that's really inspiring on the show is the character Snow White's apartment. It's so beautiful and I wish I had her kitchen!
You see a lot of brick walls, vintage furniture, rustic charm, industrial influences in lifestyle & living blogs/magazines, but Snow White's place has got it all.

You can also see a small part of her place in this video. I watched it on mute in case of Spoilers!

We'll probably move soon, so I'll be watching out for the perfect apartment to decorate inspired by Snow White in Once Upon a Time.

All things LEGO & an Accessories Collection

Last weekend the man and I took our long awaited trip to Legoland in Günzburg, Bavaria. We had bought the tickets about 3 weeks in advance because it was so much cheaper. Of course if you book a date you have to go not matter what the weather is like. So we went on a 2 hour trainride in freezing temperature and snow on easter sunday.
Thanks to the weather the park was not very busy, but also half of the rides were closed due to the snow... Luckily most of the opened during the day when the snowing stopped. I swear I even saw a second of sun.

Well, I won't bore you with further explanations, here some pictures:









They had a whole area just for Star Wars Legos. The force is strong in this one!

Yap, that was Legoland. They say it's the most kid friendly Amusement Park in Germany, but I can tell you, there is a lot of fun to be had at Legoland for the kid at heart grown-up as well.

I was wearing a hair clip made from LEGOs that day and got complimented on it. A lady asked if I bought it at he park, but no, I had made it myself. It was the red one in the following picture.
This reminded me of doing something like a LEGO accessories collection.

T-Shirt Printing Extravaganza

The man needed new shirts. And what happens when shirt are plain ans boring? We paint them, with stencils! Like so:

Ken wore this shirt to work already and got a lot of "The S is backwards!". Oh really? Hadn't noticed. That why it's not a Superman Shirt, but a Bizarro Shirt. Bizarro is the "perfect imperfect duplicate of Superman". The stencil is made from the superman logo, cut out on sticky foil from the other side, so it's a backwards S.



Next we got an Incredible Hulk Shirt. Found the stencil here.



Incredibly strong and oh so angry... not.



And here's a pretty mermaid on the thrifted Paris Shirt.



The black outlining was for placing the stencil exactly on the coffee stains, so hey would be covered up with paint. Of course the striped shirt from Paris had coffee spots! Hopefully the chalk outlines come off in the wash.



And here's my try to create some bleach stencil art on a shirt with the paper from the back of the sticky foil.



Nailed it! Oh, what a pretty obese mermaid. Could be worse though, at least you can still see what it's supposed to be.



Using stencils and painting clothes is a lot of fun. And you get to show off the results every day, if you want. It's always fun to say: "I made that myself".
